Awesome Sewing Book of the 70's

In the group of stuff that I found at the church, I forgot to tell you that I got this awesome book: "Woman's Day book of Sewing" published in 1973. I bought it because I loved the pictures of the groovy gals on the cover and because it shows how to reupholster furniture which I'd love to do. Check out all these cool images from inside the book. These women really have style!
Oh, and yeah, I paid a whole $0.25!

Close up of lugguage

Close up of the cute wicker purse...

More of the "motherload" from Saturday

One of the best sales I've been to in awhile here in town was this weekend and the people had awesome stuff for great prices; had great signs with directions, and everything was clean and well organized! These are all things I look for!

They had great prices and made me great deals as I bought a lot! It was such a great sale, that I had buyers remorse about a great Nautica comforter with Pillow Shams (they only wanted $10.00 but I knew I didn't NEED it...so I left it and kicked myself the rest of the morning - then my sis in law said it would be good for my nephew's room) and I went back. You guessed it; it was gone, but I did buy another small suitcase from them and a couple of more DVD's.

The first trip I bought the following items and all of this for only $30.00!
I got a set of nice luggage for my niece and new nephew in law: $10.00
This adorable wicker and leather & canvase purse: (marked $10.00 but I got it for about $5.00 - I already changed and put my stuff in it...)
The cute needlepoint purse with leather trim handles - $1.00
Two DVD's - $2.00 each and then when I went back trying to buy the quilt, I bought 3 more and I got those for $1.00 each;
I got a set of 400 thread count sage sheets (from Sam's Club) for $5.00;
I also got an FSU collector's football for the hubby (which he LOVES!) - for $3.00;
I also got the nice multi level lined jewelry box for $2.00;
and I got the plastic organizer boxes (to put all of our hardware items like screws, anchors, etc...) in for about $1.00 each.
They had great stuff and made me great deals; hope they do this again soon. The second round is when I picked up the additional small suitcase for $5.00.

Estate Sale 08/02/08

The first sale I went to Saturday (at 7:05 a.m.) was an estate sale at a friend of my husband's family. I'm mad at myself as they started it last weekend and I mistook the address for someone else in that neighborhood that always sells toys and clothes so I skipped it; shame on me for presuming. I bought this pretty depression glass bowl (for my hubby's sister as she collects depression glass and had fond memories of the woman who's home it came from) and this awesome, old sugar dispenser (?). The bowl was only $2.00 and the sugar dispenser was also $2.00; grand total at that sale: $4.00!
Does anyone out there know anything more about this "sugar dispenser"? Well, I think that's what it is....

Pins Close Up from 07/23/08

Here's two of the pins close up and the blue one does have some stones missing but I don't care; it needed a new home and I'm it! I'm pinning it to my Vera Bradley carry all bag (that I also got Saturday and will show you) to take on the trip! The copper and enamel one will be saved for another occasion..

Hit the motherload this Saturday!

Okay, so this is just SOME of the awesome stuff I got this Saturday; you see, I wasn't going to go (yeah right...), knowing that I leave in 4 days for the 480 miles of yard sales, but something was just calling me to go and now I know why!
