Stuff I Bought / Group 8 - Yard Sale Trip 2008

I work in television production so you can imagine how excited I was to find this really cool old 33 album. Pardon My Blooper with this awesome artwork and graphic design. I plan on framing it and putting it in my editing suite at work. I wish I had something I could play the album on....How funny is this?!

Did you ever go Christmas Caroling with your church youth group? I did and it brings back fond memories. We found this huge pack of Christmas Carol brochures that were distributed by WGAL-TV, Channel 8 and I had to have 'em; especially for $1.00 for the entire pack and there must be 40 sheets in here so I shared them with my sis in law.

Look how cool this book is that I got for $1.00! It's called "Transformagic by DuPont" and it's dated 1949. And the subtitle is "The Art of Making Old Things New" which is the story of my life with garage sale treasures so I had to have it!
It defines "transformagic" as "the art of using paint and sometimes a little carpentering to bring new life toold objects".

Can I tell you how happy I was to find the "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" book?! This was the first movie that I can remember going to the "walk in" theatre and seeing (as, you see, way back when I was a youngster we actually had drive-in theatres and walk-in theatres...LOL!) and I love that movie and can sing the theme song if you like...Old, new, chitty chitty bang bang we love you....! and it was $1.00; I got the old Ecko muffin pan for $2.50 (they were firm as the "lady who is selling it isn't here right now...); and the cool turquoise tray with the wine bottle on it was $2.00.

More stuff from the Senior Center and
from the old hotel & cabin place where we go. I got the cool coffee caraffe with the copper band for $0.10 (yep, you read that right...); the large make up carryall with the red floral print for $0.50; the toaster & mixer cover pattern for $0.25; the apron pattern for $0.25 and the cool tablecloth in the background with the birds for $20.00. (the colors were still great so I paid "high dollar"...) Oh yeah, I got the old style fruit magnets on the lower left for $0.50 (actually probably a little less as they're were a ton of magnets in the bag that these were in for $1.50 and we shared them with me, the SIL, my mom and niece...)

Stuff I Bought / Group 3 - Yard Sale Trip 2008

I got these two awesome vintage purses at different places. I got the smaller one on the right from the Senior Citizen Center in Crossville for $4.00 and the LifeStride one on the left for $5.00 at a really cool old campground place that we always stop at on the edge of Jamestown, TN.

Stuff I bought / Group 2 - Yard Sale Trip 2008

I got the awesome 50's fabric in the background for $15.00 (from a lady that I also bought a great tablecloth from last year) and plan to make some valances from; the sweatshirt with the redbird in dowtown Crossville at the depot for my mom for $3.00; the cool chip and dip trays (or at least that's what I think they are) a stack of five for $0.75; the small yellow Edwin M. Knowles bowl for $1.00; the set of 2 crochet trivets that are red, yellow and green for $5.00 for the pair (they were asking $4.00 each); and the Ma & Pa potholders for $5.00 for the set (they had been asking $7.00 for the pair); and the fruit enamel coffee cup for $0.25. I love the art of bargaining and on the World's Longest yard sale it's expected and welcomed when done very nicely!
